5 New Thanksgiving Traditions

This Thanksgiving may look a little different from celebrations in the past, but that makes it a great time to work in some new traditions to see if they’ll become fast favorites. Don’t worry – you can still keep turkey on the menu! Here are 5 new ways to celebrate Thanksgiving:  1. Go on a Turkey Trot. Turkey legs won’t be the only legs out this holiday. Get moving with a virtual Turkey Trot. If there isn’t one in your town, create your own or simply lace up and take a post-meal walk with family.  2. Show your gratitude. It’s all in the name – Thanksgiving is the perfect time to show how grateful you are life’s wonders, big and small. Have everyone virtually add a photo of something or someone they’re grateful for in a shared photo album.  3. Use a few cooking shortcuts. Take it easy this year and try a few shortcuts while fixing the holiday feast. Frozen and canned veggies are your friend! Buying pre-cooked mac and cheese or frozen pies cuts down on prep time. Shipt is here to deliver all the food you’ll need.  4. Have a virtual meet up. Screen time can also be bonding time. Just because you’re not in the same space doesn’t mean you can’t talk face-to-face. Give your smartphone or webcam its own seat at the dinner table to make it feel like everyone is right there with you!  5. Create a cocktail (or mocktail) kit. Serve up delicious cocktails and mocktails without the hassle. With pre-portioned ingredients, you can customize your own drinks. More juice, less bitters, no garnish – celebrate however you'd like.
