Our lovely, but simple hosting hacks take advantage of things you already have, and also capitalize on the season’s most delightful flavors and boldest spices such as rosemary and cinnamon. From cute centerpieces made from fresh re-used ingredients to cinnamon-adorned candles and even a bold and merry cocktail – these charming recipes are everything you need to level-up your hosting game this year.
Three Festive Holiday Hosting Hack
Ingredients Leftover Herb Centerpiece- Pots or Mason jars
- Twine
- Rosemary
- Thyme
- Sage
- Unscented candles
- Green ribbon
- Cinnamon sticks
- Superglue
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/2 cup water
- 6 rosemary springs
- 3 cinnamon sticks
- 3 dashes Angostura bitters
- 2 oz bourbon
- 1 orange peel
- Ice cubes
- Cinnamon rosemary syrup
- Wrap twine around center of pot or Mason jar and tie ends together.
- Grab leftover rosemary, thyme and sage and arrange evenly inside pot or Mason jar.
- Place decor on dining table alongside food and enjoy!
- Carefully squeeze superglue on to one side of cinnamon stick and affix to candle.
- Continue this process going all the way around until candle is surrounded by cinnamon sticks.
- Wrap with green ribbon.
- Light candle and enjoy!
- To make syrup, combine honey, water, rosemary sprigs and cinnamon sticks in a medium saucepan.
- Simmer mixture over medium heat and stir until honey has dissolved completely, then remove from heat and allow to cool.
- In an Old Fashioned glass, pour cinnamon rosemary syrup, dashes of Angostura bitters and bourbon over ice.
- Add orange peel to cocktail and gentle stir with spoon.
- Garnish with rosemary sprigs and cinnamon sticks and enjoy!
