The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) is the largest federal nutrition assistance program. SNAP provides benefits to eligible low-income individuals and families via an Electronic Benefits Transfer card. This card can be used like a debit card to purchase eligible food in authorized retail food stores. Visit https://www.benefits.gov/benefit/361 to learn more.
Electronic Benefits Transfer (EBT) is an electronic system that allows a Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) participant to pay for food using SNAP benefits. When a participant shops at a SNAP-authorized retail store, their SNAP EBT account is debited to reimburse the store for purchased food. EBT is used in all 50 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and Guam. Visit https://www.fns.usda.gov/snap/ebt to learn more.

Shipt accepts SNAP EBT with Target, Meijer, Dierbergs and Hy-Vee at this time.

Only SNAP EBT recipients are eligible to purchase a SNAP membership plan. We verify eligibility with a valid EBT card number and PIN.
SNAP EBT cards can only be used to purchase eligible food products. They cannot be used to purchase membership, pay for tips, service fees, etc.
The SNAP Membership offers all the same benefits as Shipt Membership plans. Benefits include $0 delivery fee on all orders $35+†, personalized shopping with the ability to match with and add your favorite shoppers to your Preferred Shoppers list, exclusive deals and discounts, 24/7 customer service, and more member-only perks throughout the year. You can also take advantage of other Shipt benefits, like setting Dietary Preferences, adding Special Requests to help shoppers find specific items, and getting delivery often in as soon as 1 hour.
*Note: One-time deliveries will incur both a service fee and a delivery fee, totaling $10, shown at checkout. Deliveries under $35 with a membership will incur a $7 fee. All orders with alcohol (where available) may incur a $7 alcohol fee. Service fees may apply and will vary by retailer and location. See Terms of Service
You can choose whichever membership works best for you! There is currently no difference in benefits included as part of these membership plans - the only difference is in our verification process.
For the Student Membership, you’ll need to verify your student email once a year. Student pricing is available for a maximum of four years.
For the SNAP Membership, you may be asked to verify your EBT card semi-annually if we are unable to verify on our own. SNAP membership pricing is available as long as you verify your SNAP-eligible status.

Items that meet USDA SNAP eligibility guidelines will have an “EBT-eligible” badge in the Shipt app.
No, there is no order minimum to place an order. However, Shipt customers who place an order for less than $35 will be charged a $7 fee.
Shipt customers who don’t have a membership may be charged additional delivery or service fees at checkout.
No, a Shipt membership is not required to shop with your SNAP EBT card. However, you will need a Shipt account to place an order. You would also need a second form of payment for any delivery fees, service fees, tips, etc. One benefit of purchasing a membership is $0 delivery fees on orders of $35 or more.†
Yes, your additional payment method will be used for any remaining total not covered by the EBT card amount applied to your order, including:
- Items not eligible for SNAP EBT.
- Membership, delivery, service, and other applicable fees (i.e., government regulatory fees).
- Additional products added after placing your order that exceed your original SNAP EBT charged total.
- The difference in weight for any price-per-pound items, if the purchased item exceeds the weight you selected when ordering and the new order total exceeds your original SNAP EBT charged total.
- Any tip you add for your shopper.
